Japan stocks were higher after the close on Tuesday, as gains in the Shipbuilding, Rubber and Manufacturing sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Tokyo, the Nikkei 225 rose 0.28%.
The best performers of the session on the Nikkei 225 were Kanadevia Corp (TYO:7004), which rose 7.61% or 69.00 points to trade at 976.00 at the close. Meanwhile, Mitsubishi Motors Corp. (TYO:7211) added 6.89% or 26.90 points to end at 417.50 and IHI Corp. (TYO:7013) was up 6.27% or 577.00 points to 9,780.00 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Rakuten Inc (TYO:4755), which fell 5.48% or 54.70 points to trade at 943.70 at the close. Shiseido Co., Ltd. (TYO:4911) declined 3.32% or 81.00 points to end at 2,361.00 and Bridgestone Corp. (TYO:5108) was down 2.84% or 172.00 points to 5,874.00.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Tokyo Stock Exchange by 2027 to 1574 and 269 ended unchanged.
Shares in Shiseido Co., Ltd. (TYO:4911) fell to 5-year lows; down 3.32% or 81.00 to 2,361.00. Shares in IHI Corp. (TYO:7013) rose to 5-year highs; gaining 6.27% or 577.00 to 9,780.00.
The Nikkei Volatility, which measures the implied volatility of Nikkei 225 options, was down 2.75% to 20.53.
Crude oil for April delivery was up 1.13% or 0.80 to $71.51 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in April rose 0.33% or 0.25 to hit $75.47 a barrel, while the April Gold Futures contract rose 0.55% or 15.99 to trade at $2,927.19 a troy ounce.
