French President Emmanuel Macron arrived at the White House on Monday to discuss the potential resolution of the Ukraine war with U.S. President Donald Trump. This meeting marks Macron as the first European leader to visit Trump since the U.S. President returned to power a month ago.
The two leaders have a busy agenda, including participating in a G7 call, holding bilateral talks, and presiding over a joint press conference, which was scheduled for 2 p.m. EST.
Later in the week, British Prime Minister Keir Starmer is also scheduled to meet with President Trump. These visits come at a time of growing concern in Europe over Trump’s increasingly firm stance toward Ukraine and his outreach to Moscow regarding the ongoing conflict, which has lasted for three years.
