India stocks were lower after the close on Thursday, as losses in the Real EstateFast Moving Consumer Goods and Healthcare sectors led shares lower.

At the close in NSE, the Nifty 50 lost 0.34%, while the BSE Sensex 30 index fell 0.39%.

The best performers of the session on the Nifty 50 were IndusInd Bank Ltd. (NSE:INBK), which rose 3.22% or 25.60 points to trade at 819.80 at the close. Meanwhile, UltraTech Cement Ltd (NSE:ULTC) added 1.88% or 225.00 points to end at 12,174.00 and Grasim Industries Ltd (NSE:GRAS) was up 1.67% or 44.90 points to 2,730.50 in late trade.

The worst performers of the session were Hindustan Unilever Ltd. (NSE:HLL), which fell 4.06% or 98.30 points to trade at 2,325.50 at the close. Eicher Motors Ltd. (NSE:EICH) declined 1.92% or 110.00 points to end at 5,630.00 and Bharti Airtel Ltd. (NSE:BRTI) was down 1.89% or 35.50 points to 1,846.10.

The top performers on the BSE Sensex 30 were IndusInd Bank Ltd. (BO:INBK) which rose 3.29% to 820.00, UltraTech Cement Ltd (BO:ULTC) which was up 1.77% to settle at 12,160.00 and Tata Motors Ltd (BO:TAMO) which gained 1.18% to close at 667.70.

The worst performers were Hindustan Unilever Ltd. (BO:HLL) which was down 4.01% to 2,325.00 in late trade, Bharti Airtel Ltd (BO:BRTI) which lost 1.85% to settle at 1,846.95 and ICICI Bank Ltd (BO:ICBK) which was down 1.57% to 1,401.60 at the close.

Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the India National Stock Exchange by 1195 to 1169 and 34 ended unchanged; on the Bombay Stock Exchange, 1923 fell and 1870 advanced, while 143 ended unchanged.

Shares in UltraTech Cement Ltd (NSE:ULTC) rose to all time highs; rising 1.88% or 225.00 to 12,174.00. Shares in UltraTech Cement Ltd (BO:ULTC) rose to all time highs; gaining 1.77% or 211.85 to 12,160.00.

The India VIX, which measures the implied volatility of Nifty 50 options, was up 2.33% to 16.33.

Gold Futures for June delivery was up 1.45% or 47.61 to $3,341.71 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in June rose 0.87% or 0.54 to hit $62.81 a barrel, while the June Brent oil contract rose 0.70% or 0.46 to trade at $66.58 a barrel.

USD/INR was down 0.06% to 85.29, while EUR/INR rose 0.58% to 97.13.

The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.56% at 99.07.
