Meta Platforms (NASDAQ:META), previously known as Facebook, is reportedly assembling a team to focus on the development of artificial general intelligence (AGI).

This move is spearheaded by CEO Mark Zuckerberg, who is prioritizing recruitment for this new and secretive team, internally referred to as the superintelligence group, according to a Bloomberg report on Tuesday.

The objective of this initiative is ambitious, indicating a strong push towards the field of AGI, the report said, adding that the specifics of the goal are yet to be revealed.
