Ground services staff at Helsinki airport in Finland conducted a one-day strike on Friday amid an ongoing wage dispute, according to a Finnish Aviation Union (IAU) spokesperson.

Finnish flag carrier Finnair had announced on Wednesday it would cancel approximately 80 flights on Friday due to the anticipated strike, affecting around 8,000 customers.

The labor action is part of a continuing dispute over wages.

The Finnish Aviation Union has scheduled additional industrial action for July 7, 16, 18, 21 and 23.
