Beijer Ref has acquired a 75% stake in Idema, a Northern Italy-based air conditioning distributor, the company announced Tuesday.
The acquisition includes an option to purchase the remaining shares in the future. Idema generates annual sales of approximately SEK 200 million and maintains solid profitability, according to the announcement.
Founded in 1993, Idema specializes in residential and industrial air conditioning solutions. The company will continue to operate under its existing brand following the acquisition.
The transaction aligns with Beijer Ref’s management strategy of strengthening its regional presence through selective bolt-on acquisitions. This deal specifically expands the company’s footprint in the Italian HVAC (heating, ventilation, and air conditioning) market.
Beijer Ref indicated the acquisition is expected to have a minor positive impact on group earnings. The company also highlighted potential long-term synergies and the value of Idema’s established local network in the Italian market.
